July 27-31 – Tour de France Camp
Ages 6–10
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
Larus Park

Cost: $425 for the week

Get ready to ride, race, and celebrate like the pros! WeeWheel’s Tour de France Kids Biking Camp invites young riders to experience the excitement of the world’s most famous bike race—kid style. Throughout the week, campers will “travel” through iconic Tour stages, learning about teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence on two wheels while having tons of fun.

Each day is inspired by a different stage of the Tour de France and includes guided riding, games, themed challenges, and a creative craft activity. Riders will work together as teams, build endurance, practice bike handling skills, and chase the ultimate goal—the yellow jersey!

Important Prerequisites

This camp is designed for independent riders only.
Campers must be able to ride a pedal bike without training wheels independently, including starting, stopping, steering, and braking on their own.

🚨 Please note: This camp does not include instruction on learning how to pedal or transitioning off training wheels. Riders who are still learning to pedal independently should enroll in a WeeWheel beginner or learn-to-ride program instead.

Monday – The Start Line: Le Grand Départ

We kick off the week with the excitement of the Tour’s opening stage! Campers will learn what the Tour de France is, why the first stage matters, and how racers prepare for a big week of riding. On bikes, riders will practice safe riding habits, warm-up laps, and fun challenges to set goals for the week.

Craft Activity: Jersey Crafting
Create and decorate a personal jersey that represents each rider’s goals and team spirit for the week.

Tuesday – Team Time Trial

Teamwork takes center stage! Campers will ride in pairs or small groups, learning how riders work together in the Tour. Through games and relay-style challenges, kids will practice pacing, communication, and encouraging their teammates.

Craft Activity: DIY Race Posters
Design a Tour de France–style race poster complete with a team name, colors, and logo.

Wednesday – Mountain Stages: The Pyrenees Challenge

It’s climbing day! Campers will take on gentle hills and longer rides, learning how to keep pedaling, manage effort, and celebrate trying hard—even when it’s challenging. Coaches will focus on confidence, persistence, and safe hill riding.

Craft Activity: Pizza Slice Bike Reflectors
Create a fun, reflective pizza slice to hang on bikes—combining creativity and bike safety!

Thursday – The Crits: Fast & Fun Racing

Inspired by fast-paced criterium racing, riders will take on short laps and exciting games focused on agility, control, and awareness. Emphasis is placed on fun, safe riding—not winning—while building speed confidence.

Craft Activity: Tie-Dye Day
Tie-dye jerseys in bright, fun colors to show off team pride for the final race day!

Friday – Paris: The Grand Finish

We wrap up the week with a celebratory final ride inspired by the Champs-Élysées! Campers will complete fun “final stage” challenges and enjoy a grand finish that highlights teamwork, effort, and growth throughout the week.

Craft Activity: Victory Ceremony & Podium Craft
Design a podium and celebrate with a special awards ceremony where every rider is recognized as a champion.

This camp is perfect for young riders who love to bike, enjoy imaginative play, and are ready to ride confidently in a group setting—all while experiencing the magic of the Tour de France!
